Man Saves Stray Kitten He Befriended Outside His Office – Takes Him To Safety Before Hurricane Irma Hits
Not only before Hurricane Irma approached the peninsula, a man from Florida spotted a stray kitten and an adult cat hanging around outside of his office. “At first they noticed him and presumably his mother, but, shortly after only the kitten was left,” imgur user Kushita told Love Meow. The adult cat never returned, so the man approached the kitten and, over the next few days, was able to get close enough to pet him. As soon as he learned of the approaching hurricane, he knew he had to get the kitty to safety. Even though he is allergic to cats, he and his wife became his new foster parents.
“We’re fostering this sweet baby boy so he’s safe from Irma. He was finally getting close to me since he met me yesterday. He’s a lot closer to my husband for sure,” Kushita told Love Meow.
Luckily, the couple has found a family interested in adopting him, but they’ll have to wait out the hurricane before arrangements can be made. “We are waiting out the hurricane and then seeing each other after,” said Kushita. “It’s going to be a long weekend for this kitty to be in his forever home.”
Another Florida man recently rescued another teeny, tiny stray kitten from the impending storm. “Brother found this kitten at his job all by his lonesome. He decided to take him in at the very least until Irma passes,” imgur user SouthStar said.
“(The kitten) is very active and likes to move around a lot. And he’s mewing a lot. My brother got some kitten milk replacer and one of those bottle feeding things.”
“My brother was like one of those kids that comes home with a new animal every week except he never grew out of it but now it’s actually appropriate since Irma is around the corner.” As for the kitten, he says he is “a little sweet heart.”
